Larry Uhl has the distinction of graduating grade school from a one-room school in Colorado, graduating high school from Phillips Academy, college from Harvard College and from Harvard Business School in 1977. He joined a regional investment bank, A.G. Becker upon graduation, which was acquired by Merrill Lynch. Larry focused on financial institutions during a turbulent era becoming the Managing Director for this effort on the West Coast. He left banking in 1994 and became a financial advisor for high-net-worth individuals at UBS. He retired in 2016.

Since retirement he has been an active investor in startup companies through both funds and investments in individual companies. He joined the Pasadena Angels in 2014.

He is married with two adult children, one son-in-law and a grandchild. He lives in San Marino, CA.
