Garrett is the founder and Managing Partner of SUM Ventures (SUM.VC), Maverick Investment Properties, and Chairman of the Band of Angels Los Angeles Group. As an accomplished entrepreneur, investor, and Afghan War veteran, Garrett brings a wealth of cross-functional leadership experience, having managed family offices, angel groups, and venture funds. Garrett holds a B.Sc. in Management from the United States Air Force Academy and an M.Sc. from Pepperdine University. He is also a graduate of Harvard's Executive Program in Venture Capital and Private Equity. Garrett received the George Award as the Outstanding Student in Entrepreneurship from Pepperdine’s Graziadio School of Business and Management. 

Before founding SUM.VC, Garrett was an active angel investor with the Band of Angels, Tech Coast Angels, and Pasadena Angels. For the past five years, he has hosted a monthly pitch event in partnership with the Band of Angels. Garrett is an advisor to many of his portfolio companies and serves on the Board of Directors for UNest, DressX, Brius, Purlin, and ClearClub. Other notable investments include Live Easy, YBVR, Tensa, and Fantasy Life. Garrett's passion for supporting startups continues as he actively seeks new investment opportunities.
